Bioacoustic Sound Therapy Articles: Sound Healing Therapy

Rational and Foundation for Sound as a healing therapy

"There is geometry in the humming of the strings. There is music in the spacing of the spheres".
Pythagoras, 500 BC

On
the most
elemental level
music is just organized sound
art is simply organized light and
math is merely organized consciousness

Sound and light
organized into patterns
can be expressed as math

Math,
a reflection of
the nature of consciousness
can be expressed as sound and light

Sound and light are forms of energy
Energy is defined as the ability to do work.
Work is the ability to organize or change matter
Can sound do work?
Yes!
Sound moves air, water, the small bones in our ears
and even shakes windows when the UPS truck passes by
Has anyone studied how sound organizes a medium such as water?
Yes!

An example
is the research
conducted by Dr. Hans Jenny.
He called the phenomenon he observed
"Cymatics"

The hexagonal
pattern pictured below
was produced by light refracting
through a small sample of water
under the influence of sound vibration.
The pattern is actually in constant dynamic motion.

Vibration
is considered to be
the oscillation or repetitive motion
of an object around an equilibrium position

A single vibration
results in a sound wave –
a quickly varying pressure wave
within a medium

A common visual
symbol of a sound wave
illustrates the vibrational oscillations as
longitudinal standing waves in a stationary medium
The red dots represent the nodes

These waves
alternately expand and contract the medium
they travel through

In terms of math,
the number of oscillations
a sound wave makes as it travels
along through space
is counted per
unit of time

The number
of oscillation cycles
a sound wave makes per second
is the sound’s “frequency”
and is measured in the basic unit known as hertz

Hans Jenny
found that certain frequencies
made specific patterns

Each musical note
corresponds to a particular frequency
measured in hertz.
For instance, the note of A is 440Hz.

Strumming
the note of A
on a guitar string creates
a pressure wave vibrating at 440 cycles per second.
Along with this fundamental sound, "harmonics" are created.

Harmonics
are resonate frequencies
that oscillate simultaneously.
For instance, along with the 440Hz note of A,
the vibrating guitar string will cause an E string at 330 Hz to resonate,
because they share an overtone of 1320 Hz -
the third overtone of A and
fourth overtone of E.
These two notes
also have an
interval relationship -
forming a Perfect Fifth ratio.

Harmonics
are integer multiples
of the fundamental frequency,
occurring in entirely predictable ratios
called a harmonic series,
also referred to as
overtones
and
undertones.

Two
separate pitches
of a musical scale have
a Perfect Fifth interval relationship
when their frequency ratio to
one another is
3:2.

All vibrations create sound
which might be termed
“vibroacoustics”.

All life
seems to know
these dance steps of
compression and expansion
which might be described as "bioacoustics"

Cells vibrate
planets vibrate
even galaxies vibrate
Although some of these sounds
are actually within normal human hearing range
the amplitude is too low for us to hear.

Recent
technologies have
increased the amplitude
of cell membrane vibrations
so researchers are able to "hear"
and measure the sounds cells make
These technologies may soon impact the healthcare field.

For instance,
the distinctly unique sound
of cancer cells may open the door for
the exciting possibility of even earlier detection of diseased cells.

Another possible application
may be to vibrationally "shatter" virus cells
like a singer shattering a glass.

Research
already indicates
that specific sounds
vibrate and shatter the
protein coating of virus cells,
thus allowing the body's immune system to
detect and erradicate the invader.

Vocal cords
also vibrate revealing
individual patterns of frequencies
like a musical instrument playing a song

As human vocal cords oscillate they disclose a secret language
of frequency patterns that adhere to the
universal principals
of
music - organized sound
art - organized light and
math - organized consciousness

Bioacoustics Sound Therapy
is an advanced form of sound healing,
researching and applying the correlations between
sound frequency, harmonic and resonance patterns, and
frequencies found in the voice, as they relate to human
biology, biography, psychology, and health.
Novel technologies developed by
Sharry Edwards,
the acknowledged pioneer
of Bioacoustics Therapy, such as
voice spectral analysis and low frequency sound presentation
are studied and utilized to discover new methods of promoting the restoration of compromised health issues.
These sound healing methods are thought to support and perhaps even mimic the natural mechanisms by which
the body heals itself.

"The science of the future will be based on Sympathetic Vibrations."
Rudolph Steiner, 1913
